And now on to my favorite place in Pittsburgh
It's true! The Frick Pittsburgh is my favorite place in Pittsburgh. It's such a calm and happy place with always something new to explore. The heart of The Frick is the former mansion of Henry Clay Frick, along with an Art Museum, Car and Carriage Museum, the Play House, the Greenhouse, a Gift Shop, and a Café. (Please do check these out when you have time!) But what I like most about The Frick are the grounds surrounding the buildings - a wide variety of gorgeous trees, colorful flowers, meticulously kept walking paths, perfectly placed benches, stairs for posing, and many interesting architectural details. Bonus points! The Frick is directly across from the entrance to Frick Park, always a perfect spot for a photo op.
Extra items in the pro column: The Frick looks good in any season. There are many interesting spots to accommodate either a morning or evening session. There is a parking lot and restrooms, too. Lastly, it usually isn't too crowded. The only thing to watch out for is that private events take priority, so the grounds aren't guaranteed to be available. Also, the buildings and the grounds are closed on Mondays.
